According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in August this year Turkey's rebar including round bar exports amounted to 619,439 tonnes increasing by 48.3% YoY but down 7.3% from the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled USD 377.4 million rising by 31% compared to August 2011 and down 9.4% from the previous month.
On the other hand, in the first 8 months of the current year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 5.6 million tonnes up 27.8% YoY while the total revenue of these exports amounted to USD 3.6 billion increasing by 25% as compared to January to August 2011.
In the January to August period this year, Turkey's rebar exports to the US, one of the largest rebar export destinations of Turkey, increased 91.9% while rebar exports to the UAE decreased by 27.1% both compared to the same period last year.
