According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in May this year Turkey's steel billet and bloom exports amounted to 294,208 tonnes double compared to the same month of 2011 and up 42.2% compared to April this year.

Meanwhile, in May the revenue generated by Turkey's steel billet exports totaled USD 181.9 million increasing 40.8% compared to April this year while the figure doubled on YoY basis.

Meanwhile, in the first 5 months of 2012 Turkey's steel billet exports increased by 1.4% to 950,058 tonnes while the revenue for these exports stood at USD 584.6 million up by 2.6% both compared to the same period of 2011.

In the first 5 months of this year, Turkey increased its steel billet exports to Saudi Arabia by 76.75% while the country's steel billet exports to Iran and to the UAE decreased by 40.7% and 78.3% respectively all compared to the first 5 months of 2011.
