
According to the preliminary statistics provided by Turkey's Steel Exporters Association, in January this year Turkey's total steel product exports amounted to 1.59 million tonnes decreasing by 10.45% compared to the previous month of December and up 32.74% YoY.
In January, rebar exports accounted for 47.75% of Turkey's total steel product exports while billet exports constituted 17% exports of steel pipes and fitting parts made up 8.3% exports of steel section constituted 8.25%, wire rod exports accounted for 5% and flat steel exports accounted for 4.1%.
In January 2012, Saudi Arabia was Turkey's largest destination for steel exports receiving 259,927 tonnes almost quintupled YoY. Turkey's steel product exports to the US and Singapore also saw significant increases.
