Tuwairqi Steel Mills Limited with donations from its parent companies Al Tuwairqi Holding of Saudi Arabia and POSCO of South Korea has set up two major relief camps for the flood affected people in Badin district. The two camps of similar capacity and well-organized facilities have been set up in Badin and the other camp in Umerkot.

Mr Zaigham Adil Rizvi Director Projects of Tuwairqi Steel Mills Limited visited the camp in Badin and ensured that all possible help was being provided to the refugees. The Tuwairqi Steel Mills Relief Camps have the capacity to house 75 families and approximately 500 people have been provided shelter so far. The flood affected families are being provided with secure livable conditions with three meals daily including vegetables and clan drinking water, medical facilities with round the clock doctors, a school for 30 children equipped with white board where TSML volunteers teach the children.

The relief camp also has a mosque, and a unique veterinarian section for the livestock of the families. A generator and solar power has been setup in place to provide electricity as well as power connections across the facility. It is expected that these relief efforts will continue for over a period of one month. Rehabilitation and relocation efforts include providing the affected people with monetary assistance and food supplies for another month.

Mr Zaigham Adil Rizvi director projects of TSML said that “At this time of crisis it is the duty of each and every Pakistani to extend a helping hand to those whose lives are devastated by the worst ever flood in the history of Pakistan.”
