Saudi Press Agency reported that Mr Hugo Chavez president of Venezuelan has received the visiting Mr Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan foreign minister of UAE.

Mr Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of President Mr Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Venezuelan President wishing him good health and happiness and for the people further progress and prosperity.

He also expressed sincere condolences of UAE's Government and people to the families of the victims who died and those who have been displaced by the floods that swept Venezuela recently.

Mr Sheikh Abdullah extended an official invitation to the Venezuelan President to visit the United Arab Emirates. For his part, the Venezuelan president sent his greetings to President Mr Sheikh Khalifa.

Mr Sheikh Abdullah and the Venezuelan President also discussed means of boosting cooperation in the economic field especially investment in petrochemicals, oil and gas sector, heavy industries and alternative energy, food production, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and housing.

Moreover, the delegation accompanying Mr Sheikh Abdullah also attended a workshop with their Venezuelan counterparts dealing with investment opportunities between the 2 sides, especially in the areas of energy and oil.
