Steel laden Russian ship sinks in Caspian Sea

It is reported that the search continued Sunday for the for Kamyust-1, which issued a distress call Saturday in the Caspian Sea en route from Astrakhan to the Iranian port of Enzeli. The Kamyust-1 carried 12 crew members and was loaded with steel.

In another incident all 36 crew members escaped a lumber laden Russian Kastor-1 ship sank during a storm in the Sea of Japan Sunday while sailing from Nakodka Port in far eastern Russia to China as crew had time to board life rafts.

Also, the November 11 storm in the Kerch Strait between the Black and Azov Seas killed at least six sailors, sank four ships and split an oil tanker in two.
