Shandong coastal ports throughput breaks 500 million tonne mark

According to Shandong Provincial Transportation Office that by the end of December 25th 2007,the handling capacity of coastal ports in Shandong province broke 500 million tonnes and that for containers topped 10 million TEU, which brings Shandong with the first one port with 300 million tonne handling capacity.

Over the past three years, Shandong province total invested CNY 20 billion to construct 104 coastal ports and so far 35 ports have been completed.

Initially formed the main hub port of Qingdao port, Rizhao Port, Yantai Port and Weifang port, Penglai port are also the important ports.
