Baosteel produces super high strength heavy plates

It is reported that the trial production of 1400 MPa level super high strength heavy plate was successful in Baosteel. The product performances fulfilled all the technological design standards. Baosteel succeeded in filling the gap in domestic production of super high strength heavy plate, becoming one of few enterprises of the world which have this production technology.

Steel products with yield strength over 1200 MPa and tensile strength over 1400 Mpa are called super high strength steel. 1400 MPa level heavy plate has extremely high strength, enough tenacity and good welding and forming performances.

It is used to fabricate key force carrying part in engineering machinery industry. Due to the high difficulty in chemistry design and manufacture, the manufacture of heavy plate of such strength level has become one of the important weights in measuring first rate heavy plate mill of the world.
