BHP and Dalrymple Bay Terminal resume coal ship loading
Friday, 25 Jul 2008

Bloomberg reported that BHP Billiton Ltd has resumed loading of coal ships at its Hay Point terminal in Australia's Queensland state after the weather improved.

Ms Emma Meade a spokeswoman for Melbourne based BHP said that there's one ship loading at the terminal with a second about to berth. She said that while loading had been halted almost two days, the company doesn't expect any interruption to deliveries to customers.

Mr Greg Smith GM for operations at the Babcock & Brown Infrastructure Group unit that owns the site said that Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Pty, the second largest in Australia, restarted ship loading last night, said. The terminal resumed full operations this afternoon.

The coal terminal, which lies 38 kilometers south of Mackay, is the country's second biggest after Newcastle port in New South Wales State. Hay Point is at the same location.
