Accident reported at ArcelorMittal Galati

Balkaninsight reported that a steel pipe fell on two workers at ArcelorMittal Galati in Romania leaving them seriously injured.

As per report, the accident occurred when a one tonne pipe fell 30 meters, hitting the workers.

The report cited Mr Mihai Bucatanschi spokesman of local hospital as saying that a 38 year old worker is not expected to survive after he suffered serious head injuries and the other worker had a badly injured spine.

An investigation is under way.

It was the fourteenth accident at the plant this year.
