Pacific Steel supports educational institutions in Montana
Pacific Steel & Recycling has announced that it is donating USD 200,000 to four Montana schools, USD 50,000 each to the University of Great Falls, Montana State University Great Falls College of Technology, the University of Montana and Carroll College, for specific projects at each campus.
In 2007, University of Great Falls completed construction of 18 new faculty offices in the library, along with a glass entry way, with the help of the donation. The previous faculty offices were converted to freshman dormitory space for the growing school.
Montana State University Great Falls College of Technology plans to construct a childcare center on campus, using students from the new Construction and Industrial Trades program to help build it.
The University of Montana will use the donation to help build the Gilkey Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Executive Education. The center, which is part of the School of Business Administration, will create a hub for business development and the education of future leaders.
Mr Ray Wahlert president & CEO of Pacific Steel & Recycling said that "We are a Montana based company with a dedication to giving back to our communities. We wanted to do something on an even bigger scale that would reach even further than past efforts. Giving to Montana's schools is one way to make a brighter future for the entire state. It's our way of saying thank you."
Pacific Steel & Recycling has 15 branches scattered throughout Montana. It is proud to employ Montana residents and graduates, and believes in giving back to the communities where employees work.
