BEML gets SS EMU coaches contract from Indian Railway

Bharat Earth Movers Limited has received an INR 31 crore developmental contract from the Indian Rail Board to design and develop the country’s first stainless steel AC EMU coaches.

The contract covers design, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning of 2 rakes or 18 units SS EMU coaches over the next 2 years. The corrosion resistant coaches are meant to be superior, safer, with passenger friendly interiors and increased life.
