Iran and Turkey seek to upgrade transit connections

MNA reported that Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour and Mr Binali Yildirim Communications minister of Turkish in a meeting in Ankara on Saturday discussed ways to improve Iran-Turkey transportation connections.

IRINN quoted the Iranian embassy spokesman Mr Mojtaba Faqihi as saying that they also called for forming a joint transportation commission in order to solve related problems.

In this meeting, Mr Yildirim expressed his satisfaction over the development of ties.

The Mehr News Agency reported that in a meeting on May 9th, Mr Kursad Tuzmen Turkish State Minister for Foreign Trade Affairs and Mr Ali-Akbar Mehrabian Iranian Industries and Mines Minister highlighted the expansion of bilateral ties and predicted trade volume to reach USD 20 billion annually in the next 3 years.
