It is reported that Taigang Stainless Steel has exported 5,110 tonnes stainless steel during January to February period 2009, down by 91.2% YoY.
Data shows that the monthly stainless steel exports averaged at 30,000 tons during that time. However, due to the financial turmoil and the worsening export environment, the company's total exports have to eye a sharp fall.
Export volume in January and February went at 2,965 and 2,145 tonnes respectively and that of HR stainless steel in February posted at 956 tonnes, up by 80% MoM and by comparison, that of CR one only stood at 1,189 tonnes, down by 51.2% MoM.
In light of Taigang Stainless Steel's practical output in January and February, it still keeps at a relatively high track. In addition, the market is worsening further and export is being trapped deeply. In that case, traders have to turn to sell those products in the domestic market. As expected, export rebate, as effective since April 1st 2009, can promote export volume. Nevertheless, it is quite hard to figure out the exact number for the moment.
