Iran offers roadmap for energy cooperation with Brazil

Mehr News Agency reported that Mr Manouchehr Mottaki foreign minister of Iran suggested for drawing up a roadmap for energy cooperation between Iran Brazil especially in oil sector and producing electricity.

Mr Mottaki said in a meeting with Mr Edison Lobao energy minister of Brazilian that “We should draw up a roadmap in energy field in order to recognize the two countries’ potentials for joint work in petrochemical sector, building refineries and producing electricity.”

Iran’s foreign minister also offered cooperation in agricultural and scientific fields. He said that “Today, a new chapter has been opened in relations between the two countries which originates from the political will of the two sides.”

Mr Edison Lobao said that his country supports economic ties with Tehran. He said that “Iran is our friend which we deeply like to develop relations with.”

The energy minister said that Iran and Brazil, as two important counties with valuable experiences and potential, complement each other and therefore we can have good cooperation in all areas especially in energy sector.

Mr Edison Lobao welcomed cooperation between Iranian and Brazilian companies in implementing JV.

Mr Mottaki who arrived in Brazil on last Wednesday for a two day visit was to fly to Caracas for a meeting with Venezuelan officials.
