It is reported that steel prices in Vietnam will only increase slightly in the next few months on increasing demand.
Analysts said steel consumption had been starting recovery since this April as the government’s stimulus package encouraged market demand especial in construction projects.
Therefore, many steel makers in Vietnam have decided to increase prices after seeing the going-up demand trend. However, some experts think such price hikes would not continue too long and suggest local steel makers should be more careful with any price increase adjustment, otherwise they would lose their market share.
Those experts also warn that in fact, local steel demand has not fully recovered yet if raising price too much at this time would hurt fragile market.
