Olympic Steel announces winners of Sol Siegal Scholarship

Olympic Steel Inc has announced the recipients of the Sol Siegal Scholarship Program. The scholarship program is named for the company’s founder Mr Sol Siegal. The program rewards the hard work of the children and dependents of Olympic Steel Inc employees.

The program annually awards up to ten new USD 1,500 renewable scholarships to students pursuing post secondary degrees. Five new renewable scholarships were awarded for the 2009-2010 academic year based upon academic performance, school and community involvement, leadership skills, future goals, and outside references as reviewed and selected by the company's outside scholarship administrator.

Olympic Steel said that "We are also pleased to recognize the following students who have earned a scholarship renewal for the 2009-2010 academic year. In order to earn a renewal award, students must show evidence of continued academic excellence and submit a one-page essay discussing their academic progress and application of Olympic Steel's 10 Core Values in their everyday lives."

The 2009 new recipients are:
Ms Renee Garcia, daughter of Ysmael Garcia (Detroit Division)
Mr Midhilesh Gogineni, son of Rao Gogineni (Cleveland Division)
Ms Stacia Moyes, daughter of Thomas Smith (Iowa Division)
Ms Alaine Perconti, daughter of Alan Perconti (Cleveland Division)
Ms Ashley Skinner, daughter of Lisa Bradley (Southern Division)

Ms Jessica Cedor, daughter of Joseph Cedor (Connecticut Division)
Mr Michael Culek Jr, son of Michael Culek (Cleveland Division)
Ms Megan Feil, daughter of Donna Feil (Minneapolis Coil Subsidiary)
Ms Alyse Fields, daughter of Kenneth Fields (Minneapolis Coil Subsidiary)
Mr Zachary Hasbrouck, son of Keith Hasbrouck (Connecticut Division)
Ms Caroline Sable, daughter of Robert Sable (Minneapolis Coil Subsidiary)
Mr Michael Sagherian, son of Malcolm Sagherian (Connecticut Division)
