Jiugang Daily reported that, the steel mill has signed 7,000 tonnes of export contracts with Vietnam and Japanese steel traders, breaking zero record of steel exports this year.
The global economic downturn has made the whole overseas steel market suffer great impacts last year, pushing the steel demands to face a shrinking margin. The world steel orders were on the wane from September 2008 to May 2009.
Jiugang planned to export 0.3 million tonnes in total this year and paid close attention to the steel prices of the overseas market in a bid to increase the export volume.
As learned, the company has clinched agreements with Vietnam and Japan to export 5,000 tonnes of steel coils and 2,000 tonne of wire rods respectively in the near future.
