Saturday, 04 Jul 2009

Tenova Italimpianti Deutschland GmbH, a company of Tenova LOI Italimpianti, has successfully commissioned two furnaces in June.

On June 10th 2009, the first slab was discharged from the pusher furnace designed, realized and installed by Tenova at the GTS Industries plate mill in Dunkerque. The furnace is designed for a capacity of 200 tonnes per hour to heat up slabs with different qualities up to 1250 °C. The commissioning was perfectly in accordance with the contractual timing and, only 2 days later, the furnace reached nearly the nominal throughput with full satisfaction of the customer.

On June 26th 2009, the 1st hot slab was discharged from the walking beam furnace in the Salzgitter Flachstahl hot strip mill. The furnace designed, realized and installed by Tenova, has a capacity of 300 tonnes per hour to heat up slabs with different qualities up to 1280 °C. The furnace, commissioned one week earlier than scheduled, is already running with a significant production, in parallel with 2 other Tenova furnaces in 3 shifts and in automatic mode.
