MSCCL gets mining lease for Madanpur South captive coal block

Projects Today reported that the union ministry of coal has accorded mining lease for the Madanpur South coal block located in the state of Chhattisgarh to Madanpur South Coal Company Limited, a JV floated by the 11 allocates of the block.

The MoC has allotted this 175.65 million tonne block located in the Hasdo-Arand Coal Field in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh to Hindustan Zinc, Akshay Investment, Chhattisgarh Steel & Power, Chhattisgarh Electricity Company, MSP Steel & Power and a consortium of Ispat Godavari, Vandana Global, Indo-Agro Synergy, Bajrang Power & Ispat and Nakoda Ispat, for sponge iron production and power generation.

Meanwhile, MSCCL will be able to conduct explorations over an area of 713.952 ha and the lease will last for a period of 30 years.
