It is reported that Shandong Province-based Chinese steel producer Jinan Steel has succeeded in producing 30mm to 60 mm thickness EH36 high strength shipbuilding plate via thermo-mechanically controlled process thus becoming the second producer in China capable of producing 60 mm thickness FH40-Z35 shipbuilding plate.
TMCP makes it possible to obtain high-strength plate with high toughness and excellent weld ability by means of accelerated cooling immediately after controlled rolling.
