Leitner Shriram commissions wind turbine facility in Chennai

Mr Bharatsinh Solanki union minister of state for power on September 25th 2009 inaugurated Leitner Shriram Manufacturing's turbine facility at Gummidippondi near Chennai.
Leitner Shriram Manufacturing is a JV between Shriram EPC and Italy based Leitner Technologies.
The INR 200 crore turbine facility is spread across 20 acre. In Phase I, it is likely to have a manufacturing capacity of 150 wind turbines per annum. The facility is expected to cater to both domestic and export markets. It will also cater to the US and European markets, as well as markets in Egypt, Morocco and Africa.
Construction work on Phase II to double the capacity is likely to commence after six months.
