It is reported that Taiwan's billet export price goes down in line with dropping scrap price. Taiwan originally was able to keep the price at USD 485 per tonne to Southeastern Asia but Southeastern Asian buyers decreases the purchasing price recently due to consecutive depreciation of scrap price.
Taiwan's mills are facing a difficult situation because Vietnam currently bids USD 465 per tonne for billet which is equal TWD 14,100 to TWD 14,200 per tonne and is USD 300 per tonne lower than Taiwan's domestic price.
