Toshiba JSW Turbine and Generator a JV between Toshiba Corporation and JSW Group has signed an agreement with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation for USD 90 million loan (INR 420 crore) for fund its upcoming facility in Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
The Chennai plant is likely to commence operations in early 2011. It is expected to manufacture mid to large size steam turbines and generators.
Recently, Toshiba JSW had signed a land lease agreement with the Tamil Nadu Government for the proposed facility.
