Shougang ink auto sheet supply deals with leading automakers

It is reported that Shougang Group inked annual supply agreements of auto sheet with Saicgroup, Beijing Automobile Industry Holding Co Ltd Geely and Great Wall Motor on last Friday on October 23rd implying that the fifth biggest steelmaker in China has the ability of bulk supply of quality auto sheet.

On May 10th 2008, Shougang 1.7 million tonnes per year global advanced CR project was put into operation with total investment of CNY 6.4 billion while another auto sheet production line the first phase of Shougang Jingtang steel plant started commissioning on May 21st 2009.

Mr Wang Qinghai general manager of the steel group said "Shougang strives to reach auto sheet production of 0.5 million tonnes by 2010 and realizes bulk supply."

Over 20 leading automakers like China First Automobile Works, Saicgroup, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Beijing Automobile Industry Holding Co Ltd and Chery attended the auto sheet introduction meeting held by Shougang.
