Reuters reported that India's National Aluminum Company Limited sold 7,000 tonnes of primary aluminum ingots at a premium of USD 85.58 per tonne over the LME cash price on a CIF basis.
The official who has direct knowledge of the deal said that the buyer was European trading company Trafigura. The shipment would start from November and conclude in four months.
The source said that NALCO, whose tenders serve as an international benchmark for prices, last sold aluminum ingots at USD 84.6 per tonne premium over the LME cash price on a CIF basis mid October.
