Maoists blew up Essar Steel guest house

It is reported that Maoists have called a two day Bandh starting from Tuesday in Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada districts to protest against the deployment of forces in these districts. In this Bandh period the Maoists blew up the Guest house of Essar Steel Private Company during this two day strike at Chitrakonda of Malkangiri district.

As per the information about more than 100 armed Maoists came late night of Tuesday and triggered a land mine at the guest house of Essar Steel and partially damaged it. They locked the Company Engineers and other employees in a room and then blasted the land mines.

They have also looted the mobile phones from the security staffs of the company. Many Computers, Laptops and many wealthy materials have been damaged. The guest house has been partially damaged. They have also destroyed office furniture.

Maoist guerrillas have pasted posters at several places appealing the peoples to support the Bandh. They have also blocked roads at several places in Malkangiri district by falling trees on the roads.
