Baosteel successfully completed ICSTI 2009

On the afternoon of October 22nd, ICSTI'09 was brought to a successful end in Baosteel. During the three day conference, iron making specialists and scholars from over 20 nations and regions went through detail discussion of iron-making technologies. Baosteel research results received high attention and unanimous compliment from international iron-making circle.

Mr Xu Lejiang Chairman of Baosteel Group Corporation, Mr Hong Jibi Vice President of Chinese Society of Metals, Executive Deputy Director of Baosteel Planning Commission Mr Li Haiping and Vice General Manager of Baosteel Co Ltd Mr Zhou Jianfeng attended the conference.

ICSTI is an important conference in international iron-making circle held every three years. ICSTI'09 was jointly hosted by Chinese Society of Metals and Baosteel Group Corporation in the context of rapid development and continual technology breakthrough in China's iron & steel industry, thus received high regard from international iron making circle. Over 420 academic papers from home and abroad on iron-making primary material preparation, sintering, spheroid, coking, furnace iron making technologies, non furnace iron making theory research and manufacture practice, introduction to recent scientific and technological improvements and results of iron-making system were handed to the conference.

Specialists and scholars from Chinese key iron and steel enterprises and research institutions, Baosteel, Ansteel, Wisco, Panzhihua Steel and from overseas Germany, Japan, Korea, Russia made speeches on the conference. Baosteel technical personnel gave reports on over ten topics, covering Baosteel achievements on iron making, furnace longevity, energy-saving, environment protection, liquation reduction.
