
Interfax citing Mr Karim Masimov Prime Minister of Kazakhstan as saying that Kazakh industrial output in January to October 2009 dropped by 0.2%YoY while agricultural production increased by 9%.
He said that "Over the ten months of this year in January to October against the same period of 2008 industry was at 99.8%YoY and agriculture 109% YoY."
It was earlier reported that industrial output in Kazakhstan went up by 2% in 2008. In 2007, production increased by 4.5% which was the lowest rate of growth since 1999. Manufacturing however expanded that year by 6.7%.
Kazakhstan Ministry of the Economy and Budget Planning forecast that industrial production in the country would increase by 2% in 2009.
