Mining operations affected at NLC due to heavy rain fall

Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited announced that due to excessive rainfall in the Cuddalore District since November 6th 2009, the mining operations have been affected.
It said that “Pumping out of excess water from the mines is in progress.”
NC said “On account of the above, generation of power has been partially affected in all power stations. Normalcy in operation is expected shortly. This is not an unusual occurrence as this occurs usually during north east monsoon between Octobers to December every year.”
