Larsen and Toubro open a manufacturing facility in Oman

Engineering firm Larsen and Toubro Heavy Engineering LLC has opened a high tech manufacturing facility at Sohar in Oman to augment its existing modular fabrication facility.

According to a release with the operationalization of this facility, the company would become one of the largest integrated manufacturing complexes in the region catering to the hydrocarbon and power sectors.

Larsen & Toubro Heavy Engineering LLC is a joint venture of the Zubair Corporation and Larsen & Toubro Limited of India. With this joint venture, L&T now operates four companies in the Sultanate, expanding its operations to cover sectors including construction, erection of transmission towers, modular fabrication and manufacture of critical equipment for process plants.

The facility is spread over 300,000 sq meters and has a built-up area of 12,000 sq meters with an additional 100,000 square meters available for future expansion. Larsen & Toubro is a USD 8.5 billion technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing group with global operations.
