3 Killed in coal mine gas leak in Kemerovo Region of Siberia
Russian media RIA Novosti reported that 3 miners have been killed early on Friday in an accident in the Ziminka coal mine in southwest Siberia’s Kemerovo Region.
There were 8 people in the mine, owned by the Siberian Business Union, at the time of the accident and 5 escaped safely.
Administration spokesman Mr Anton Gorelkin told RIA Novosti that the bodies of three miners have been discovered.
Investigators believe that a poisonous gas leak inside the mine, located in the town of Prokopyevsk, could have caused the deaths.
