Reuters reported that India biggest cement maker ACC Cement Ltd and Gujarat Ambuja will award a tender for 100,000 tonnes each of Indonesian and South African coal.
According to the report, the two companies issued a joint tender for coal for Q1 2010 delivery. Offers were submitted on a CIF basis.
Indian cement makers have during the past few months sought to buy coal at USD 80.00 per tonne or less on a delivered basis. In recent months, South African coal has been several dollars per tonne cheaper CIF than Indonesian.
