It is reported that UK alternative market listed Altona Energy, the company with a vision for a massive coal to liquids project in South Australia, has scooped up a technical expert from Britain to be its boardroom point man for the project.
He is Mr Peter Fagiano, the just retired process and technology director from UK based Jacobs Engineering who's been heading up work by Jacobs on Altona's CTL plan for South Australia's Arckaringa Basin coal on the back of a 45 year career in projects with a range of global energy groups, including BP, Chevron, ConoccoPhillips and Shell.
Although he'll formally join the Altona board as executive director for project technology next month, Fagiano already has been working as part of the company's team managing is JV for the Arckaringa with Chinese energy company partners.
Mr Altona said that Fagiano has been a key player in progressing the JV's bankable feasibility study for the CTL project that will tap the Arckaringa's estimated 7.8 billion tonnes coal resource.
