It is reported that the first batch of coke was successfully produced by the No 2 coke furnace of the Angang and Linggang premium steel program jointly invested in by Chinese steelmakers Anshan Steel Group and Lingyuan Steel Inc.

The program includes the building of two coke furnaces, each with annual production capacities of 500,000 tonnes of coke. The construction of the other furnace ie the No 1 coke furnace has been finished and it will be put into operation in the near future.
