Bloomberg reported that Anglo Coal may face a strike if it doesn't meet demands from miners over child care facilities, funeral cover and the way workers are tested for the HIV virus that causes AIDS.
Mr Lesiba Seshoka, a spokesman for National Union of Mineworkers said that the union is also concerned over the way workers and contract workers are graded in terms of job scales, which affect salaries.
The union presented the company with the demands on November 7th 2009, giving it a week to respond.
