Vancouver based Apella Resources reported that it has appointed mining engineer Mr Dennis Bordin to its board of directors.
Mr Bordin, who starts September 1, is a registered professional engineer in Ontario and has over 30 years worth of experience in the mining industry. The company said that Mr Brian Adams has given up his position after nine years to allow for Bordin's appointment.
Mr Bordin has experience in mineral exploration, mine feasibility, open-pit and underground operations as well as smelting and refining, having worked on northern Labrador iron ore projects with the Iron Ore Company of Canada, and dealing with the development and logistics of mining in remote-sensitive areas.
He also worked at giant nickel producer Falconbridge, where Mr Bordin focused on environmental issues affecting the operation of large metallurgical complexes, in particular, in the control of sulphur dioxide emission control and acid plants in Canada.
