Apollo Minerals Limited announces that the drilling program which commenced on October 2nd 2009 at its Mt Oscar tenement in the Pilbara in Western Australia has had a successful start with its first drill hole A6N intercepting two significant magnetite rich horizons.

Drillhole A6N has had two intercepts of magnetite iron ore at depths closely predicted by the geophysical interpretation released earlier this year. The first intercept was from a depth of 25 meters to 87 meters for an approximate true width of 62 meters, while the second unit, which lies underneath the first, was intercepted at 215 meters and ended at 349 meters for an approximate true width of 134 meters.

These results compare well with the anticipated intercepts derived from the geophysical modeling except that the second intercept was more than double the expected width. The particularly large intercept at Unit C was unexpected, however it may explain the high intensity results from the aeromagnetic information.

A priority analysis of samples has commenced in order to provide early results for 10 to 20 samples from drill hole A6N. This is so results may be shared with potential joint venture partners and financiers.
