French daily Les Echos without citing anyone reported that Areva SA is considering the possibility of listing its mines division.

The news paper said that the unit is valued at about EUR 6 billion and a stock market listing could be a step towards a merger between the division and Eramet SA. The company is in the early stages of considering a listing.

The paper further said that Areva is also pressing the government to allow it to execute its planned capital increase.
