Bloomberg reported that power-station coal prices at Australia Newcastle port an Asian benchmark dropped 0.6% in the week ended today.
According to the globalCOAL NEWC Index coal prices at the New South Wales port declined to USD 111.29 a metric ton from USD 111.98 the previous week.
Xstrata Plc the world largest exporter of power-station coal, BHP Billiton Ltd and Rio Tinto Group are among mining companies that ship coal through Newcastle.
