Australia Newcastle thermal coal rises 2pct to USD 116 per tonne

Bloomberg reported that Power station coal prices at Australia Newcastle port an Asian benchmark rose 1.7% in the week ended today.
According to the globalCOAL NEWC Index coal prices at the New South Wales port climbed to USD 116.19 per tonne from USD 114.30 the previous week.
Xstrata Plc the world largest exporter of power station coal, BHP Billiton Ltd and Rio Tinto Group are among mining companies that ship coal through Newcastle.
