Australian mining icon, Mr Ron Manners has been inducted into the Mining Hall of Fame at a dinner in Perth.
Mr Ron was nominated by mining industry leaders Ms Gina Rinehart, Mr David Reed, Mr Mark Creasy and Ms Ross Louthean, as a proven entrepreneur and promoter in the mining industry in Australia.
Hancock Prospecting chairman and director Ms Gina Rinehart said that “Ron’s support for the mining industry and policies which enable its growth, is legendary, and extremely important for Australia.”
Reed Resources executive chairman Mr David Reed added that “The nomination documents demonstrated that Ron has excelled by his proven skills under such categories as Prospectors & Discoverers, Directors & Management, Historians & Educators (by his contributions to the education of others), and there is no doubt that he more than meets the criteria for his entrepreneurial performances.”
The Australian Mining Hall of Fame recognizes the men and women in the mining industry who have made a significant contribution, exceptional achievement or achieved remarkable success in the mining and natural resource environment in Australia.
Mr Manners said that “It is a great honour to be included in such a prestigious group of people who have contributed so much to the Australian mining industry. Sadly, I am the only living member of this year’s inductees and one way of preserving the great legacy left by these leaders is through recognition by the Mining Hall.”
