Reuters reported that BHP Billiton, involved in a near USD 150 billion bid for rival Rio Tinto, has agreed to provide information requested by South Africa's Competition Commission required evaluating its bid.

BHP will now not pursue its appeal to the Commission's sister authority, Competition Tribunal to set aside the subpoena for the documents from the Commission.
