It is reported that Ms Sheikh Hasina prime minister of Bangladesh sought cooperation of the German government in coal mining and introducing solar energy system on a massive scale in Bangladesh as the country's prospective development is constrained by energy shortages.

She made the request when new Ambassador of Germany in Dhaka Holger Michael paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister.

The envoy assured the premier of providing all necessary assistance for implementing development projects of the government.

The envoy highly praised the leadership of Ms Sheikh Hasina saying that her wise and visionary headship will take Bangladesh and its people onto the cherished plane of development and prosperity.
