
Thanks to higher coal prices globally Polish coal miner Bogdanka predicts a record-breaking net profit for 2012 exceeding its previous record set in 2010 of PLN 230 million.
Mr Mirosław Taras chief executive “We will present a forecast statement in March.”
He said that “In 2010 the company earned over PLN 200 million, 2011 slightly weaker, but this year will be very good. So, I am certain that we will beat the 2010 record.”
Mr Mirosław Taras said the company mined a record 750,000 tonnes of coal in December 2011. Over the last 12 months, Bogdanka mined over 5.8 million tons. This year, output is expected to exceed 8 million tons.
