Brierty continues to grow its order book and build on already high revenues with the securing of an AUD 39 million contract with iron ore heavyweight Fortescue Metals Group.

The contract covers the construction of rail formation for six sidings on the Cloudbreak Mainline, and includes bulk earthworks and drill and blast operations.

Demonstrating the strong relationship Brierty has already formed with Fortescue, Brierty is also currently working on Fortescue's T155 expansion project.

It is Brierty's past performance on large civil infrastructure projects, such as the AUD 60 million Solomon Rail Spur contract that is nearing completion, that has no doubt earned them this latest contract.

The company is no stranger to working with some of the major players in the mining game, including Rio Tinto which last month awarded Brierty and joint venture partner Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundational a contract worth more than AUD 55 million to construct 221 housing lots in the Pilbara town of Wickham, Western Australia.

Brierty has also previously landed a four year AUD 185 million contract with Karara Mining for the hematite mining and associated services at the Karara Iron Ore Project in Western Australia.

Karara Mining is a JV between Gindalbie Metals and Chinese steel producer Ansteel.
