According to a report, Coal India is mulling bid for the Colombian assets of the US miner Drummond Co.

The report stated that Bank of America-MerrillLynch is advising Drummond and it was also an advisor for Coal India

There are reports that Coal India Ltd has signed MoU with Shipping Corporation of India to float a joint venture firm to provide logistic services for coal import.

Mr PS Bhattacharyya chairman of CIL has reportedly said that through this 50:50 JV, we expect to handle 25 million tonnes of coal every year.
