Some significant iron ore intersections have been confirmed by the Cazaly Resources and Vector Resources JV, in maiden drilling at the Cecil Rhodes Prospect, part of the Earaheedy Project, northeast of Wiluna in Western Australia. Significant intersections include:
1. 22 meters at 58.1% iron
2. 22 meters at 57.8% iron
3. 26 meters @ 55.1% iron
Maiden drilling comprised 21 holes for 1916 metres, with follow up drilling programs currently being planned by the company to identify the extent of the mineralization.
In other positive news, regional mapping also confirms manganese potential with surface samples to 37% manganese at Blue Cliffs prospect.
The Earaheedy Basin was first explored for iron ore during the 1970’s, principally by BHP and AMAX Exploration, who defined extensive areas of haematite enrichment with surface grades of up to 66% iron.
The Western Australia State Government partly funded the program through its Exploration Incentive Scheme, and therefore assisted in the new discovery.
