Centrex Metals has reported that Eyre Iron Pty Ltd has received an encouraging first batch of davis test tube recovery results from its Carrow Magnetite Project, showing potential for very high grade/ very low contaminant concentrate product at coarse 75μm grind size.
Eyre Iron is the management company of the Eyre Peninsula Joint Venture of which Centrex holds a 40% interest. Carrow is one of the initial targets flagged for iron ore production from within the EPJV projects located on the Southern Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.
Four diamond drill rigs are in operation and a further two drilling rigs are imminent. The Carrow metallurgical sample collection has been completed and process test work is underway for the pre-feasibility study.
Over 9,000m of diamond drilling has been completed by Eyre Iron since the end of August, including a number of metallurgical drill holes to obtain bulk samples for process design test work.
Further drilling is planned to define the magnetite ore extents near surface.
Additional studies for the Carrow pre-feasibility study are also progressing including environmental and social baseline studies being managed by Coffey Environments.
Eyre Iron has also commenced drilling on its Greenpatch Project approximately 10km northwest of Port Lincoln, with four diamond drill holes already completed as part of an initial Scoping Study.
Eyre Iron plans to commence further drilling and a Scoping Study on its Koppio Project approximately 35km north of Port Lincoln early in the New Year.
