
It is reported that chaos erupted outside the Kathu Magistrate's Court in the Northern Cape when Kumba employees were denied bail.
Mine workers reacted after their colleagues, arrested on October 16th for seizing mining equipment at Kumba Iron Ore's Sishen Mine, were denied bail and were told they would remain in police custody until November.
Ms Anele Gxoyiya congress of SA Trade Unions provincial secretary said that workers to remain calm. Her comments triggered an outburst of threats to get rid of the National Union of Mineworkers' and Cosatu's leadership.
